About the Screening
Watch the 2001 film Windtalkers then stay for Beyond The Screen discussing what the movie missed by Michael Gorman, grandson of Navajo Code Talker, Carl N. Gorman. What is fact and what is Hollywood - Learn how 420 Navajo men created and deployed a code that turned the tide of the war in the Pacific for the US, despite the harsh treatment of Indian Boarding schools and a sorted history with the US government.
Learn about the creation of the code, what the code talkers did after the war, the code talker's emblem, its meaning and origin, the story of the "real" Ben Yazee and find out which Code Talker made a cameo in the film. Also get an up close look at how the code functioned and maybe even leave with a few code words you can use!
*Special Offer!
